Enable fireworks. They might be cool.

Although I support the idea, there was obviously not too much thought/effort put into writing it. Chances are an admin will either reject it or mark it invalid. You also did not address issues with fireworks, (I've heard that they lag servers.) If you put a little more time and effort into writing it out, then you have my vote.

There's a bug that makes SMP servers crash with fireworks.

1.4.7 fixes it, and I'm betting fireworks will get reenabled after it's live.

Give us a valid reason to enable fireworks, then we'll consider making some changes.

Indeed it is.

Hopefully there will be a New Years event with fireworks setup and used by the Staff, otherwise I could care less to wait to have the publics use of them over the sever.

Crafting a firework without a 'firework charge' resulted in a useless firework item. Placing this item would cause servers to crash. I'd like to see an infinite, random firework given to all staff on New Years.... Or all players!

Well, I have seen a video where an admin set up a whole fireworks display using TNT explosions. Perhaps Intelli could set up something like that high above spawn for a New Year's celebration.
