I personally think it should be down to our Glorious Leaders decision, not the players.

That would just make staff apps into a big popularity contests. I don't want friendly staff who get along with everyone, I want staff who can get the job done Plus it's Intelli's server so I think he should be the only one who's opinion matters on staff applications.

Also, I think if we took anyone who got __% of the yes vote we'd end up with way too many staff.

The OP states that this would be like the recent addition of polls to ban appeals. As with ban appeals/requests, polls on staff applications would be used to give a sense of the community's opinion, but would not be binding like they are for server suggestions.

Pfft, balancing both is key to being a good staff member. People need staff they feel comfortable talking to about anything they need help with. You just cannot let friendships cloud (heh cloud) your judgement when doing your job.

As to this suggestion, I think it's a decent idea. But arguments for it that say it will get rid of the +1's are pretty invalid. xD We have polls on ban appeals and you still get people who will post +1's on the appeal. People are still going to voice their opinion in the end, which is one of the benefits of our forums. c:

Well because people misunderstood my suggestion this will be invalid but I will explain it further. Like ban appeals the votes mean nothing it just means people will stop writing "+1" that's is what I want implemented I am suggesting to be implemented in staff apps.

Yes. Also, the votes just show what community wants, and doesn't actually affect the outcome.
