[REJECTED] Remove the auto-punctuate feature from chat

So the past few days this auto-puncuate feature has been driving me mad. Sure - it's nice to see good punctuation but most of the time server gets it wrong.

For example, the server will place a question mark where one shouldn't be and it can change what you were trying to say. It places full stops after nearly everything which is highly annoying especially when you emoticons such as :P

I'd like to see this feature removed from that chat.

True. But. Then. You. Would. Have. To. Put. In. Capital. Letters. Yourself.

And when i type Welcome to Minerealm <name> I dont put capitals on minerealm and welcome. it corrects these and makes me look decent. :P

Alternatively, people could just start typing correctly. It's not really that hard, you know.

It's an in-game chat - not an English Language exam.

I can understand the picto-chat my sister wrote in when she was 3 better than some of the crap I see in game/forums/internet in general, and while it was adoreable, I'd rather not have to go back to that. Besides, if people learn something about grammar while they play a game, bonus points for humanity.

TL;DR

Invalid because I am never on anyways.

Just wanted to mention that you can avoid punctuation fixes and auto-capitalization of the first word in a sentence by putting a backslash at the beginning or the end. It doesn't show up, but it counts as a punctuative (is that a word?) character, causing the auto-correct to fix it rather then your spelling. That said, I like this feature. It keeps chat (somewhat) readable, and a lot neater looking. I voted no.

But is it really that hard to capitalize letters yourself?

This situation has accrued a couple of times:

-| Eah: I really love MineRealm.
-| Redkiller: What Eah said.

And it is auto-correced to:

-| Redkiller: What Eah said?

Incorrect. If you typed "What Eah said. " as you said, it wouldn't add a "?". Rather, you typed "What Eah said"

If the system isn't clever enough to tell that "What Eah said" isn't a question - it shouldn't be used. It's situations like this where the coding gets it wrong is what I want to change. It's annoying.
