[REJECTED] Suggestion: Pest control (remove bedbugs)

For a very long time, there has been an epidemic which has prevented MOI's from sleeping in their beds. Instead, they have all had to sleep on the cold, hard floor. Do we need to bring in pest extermination?
I am still unclear if this would increase lag, since the pests were introduced a long time ago.

Doing this is suggesting that intelli remove /home and /sethome, which i am very fond of.
Not to mention the crys of all the noobs that want to sleep through the night.

The reason bedbugs are even around are to keep us using /home. If we had both.. People could have 2 teleports essentially. One they'd have to die to get to, the other they just use /home. We dont need beds if we have /home.

Great point Flan.
If sleeping was introduced again, using beds as a teleport upon death would have to be disabled.
Edit: Also, there is the potential for mass sleepings (nice signature Prodigy).

The beds are more analogous to /spawn than to /home, since it's the place where you automatically end up when you die.
Fully enabling beds would have the unintended effect of decentralizing the server's population (since not everyone would appear at Spawn City after death). If it was also used as a replacement for /sethome, it would also allow realm owners to control whether players are allowed to set home in their realms (no bed already there + no build rights = can't set home).

^This is what I'd like to see. Allow the beds to be used, but not making them truly useful. No need to keep them totally disabled if spawn point setting is removed.

The suggestion is allow beds. Not disable /home and add bads. if intelli were to accept this. He'd accept it how it was suggested. Then if we wanted /home gone, that'd be another suggestion. Anyway +1

I have been playing on the minerealm server since the day I joined the forums. Not an minute of sleep. Thanks to these bedbugs, I now understand in minerealm that....
