[REJECTED] Allow Animals to Spawn in Ocean Biomes?

Self explanatory.

Now, before you say, "What the eff E.B.?!? Why would this make any sense??? It would only cause lagggggg!" I realize these things. We could get around this by making it so they have the regular spawning properties, and make it so they only spawn on grass blocks. This would avoid random cows spawning in the middle of the ocean.

While this would obviously benefit myself, I know there are many a player who live in an ocean biome and would also benefit from this change.

Note: Due to me being in an ocean biome since the 3.0 wipe, I'm not too accustomed to the animal spawn properties. All I know is that I haven't seen a passive mob spawn since my realms were located in forest biomes instead of the ocean they are now in.

I just noticed, I always waited for animals at the old vortex, but we built it over an entire ocean, +1

This would modify how core gameplay functions, and would not at all be legit.

I'd personally suggest creating a topic regarding biome correction (So changing biomes where necessary) rather than messing with how mob spawning works, etc.

Oh wow really? Ok I figured my suggestion was a simpler fix but I guess not. So basically we need to ask ourselves what areas would warrant this change, and to what biome would they be changed to. Wouldn't that be difficult to implement? I'd love to see this put in, it would be a better change than what I first proposed. I will brainstorm and come up with a different topic/poll.

Thanks for the input intelli!

Couldn't Intelli just change your biome since technicly it was a forest biome right before the land reset meaning its legit?

I went ahead and made a suggestion on that topic. Rather than defining what specific cases do or don't warrant a biome change, I proposed a system that allows the matter to be decided by staff on a case-by-case basis, depending on how well a player had terraformed to simulate the biome of interest.
