[IMPLEMENTED] Suggestion: Remove Bribes for voting

I personally hate them. Back in the days, we were proud to be able to say we don't bribe for votes. Now, we're saying "Hey guys! We're legit! But, yeah, you can get free credits from voting, umm,.."

I just wanted to make this to see how the community feels about it.

I think its fine. They are not really bribes since clearly Minerealm IS the best server. The credits are more like a little reward, imo, for taking the time to do it.

Why should there be an incentive to do something that people would do regardless?

No matter what, I think most people who regularly play on Minerealm would vote for minerealm, regardless of whether there was a bribe or not. It's just encouragement vote immeadiately. Not vote for minerealm specifically. I think the bribe is actually to get the player to take time to just cast his vote.

An S2 or Ninjalo picture is needed here.

This will get shot down hard. Then burnt. Then eaten. No.

I sort of like the free credits, but I can see why others wouldn't. What if it was made into a lottery--at the end of each month, one player can get a large prize (say, 5,000 credits), while some other players get smaller amounts (say, a few getting 1,000 credits each, and many getting 200 each). For each vote cast during that month, the player gets one lottery ticket, and the credits are automatically added to the account.

There would still be an incentive for voting, but instead of a direct payoff of credits for votes, it only provides a chance (and a darn small chance, in the case of the top prize) of getting something for your time.

I didnt see you complaining when people were rewarded credits for saying Hello to new players. In fact you were right there with them.

Sounds like a drawing of those who vote. You arent guaranteed it. It's pretty much a scratchie ticket with your price being a vote for a server you love. Stop complaining.

No. A thousand times no.

People should work for their wealth. Sure, it's only 10k credits but it's, to me, bribery.

It doesn't matter if it's a chance. It doesn't matter if it's like the lottery. Votes should be from devoted people from the server, that care about the server's well being. Not from a mass of people wanting to win some in-game money.

Now don't come replying to me complaining and picking apart my words like " Waaaaa Waaa Y U SO WRUNG IM RITE". I don't care what your point is and I'm not going to respond to you.

But it's Intelli's server, and he'll do what he wants.

Just my ยข2.

I'm personally not a fan of "wealth for votes" servers.

I would recommend something else to encourage voting, like a "voting statistics" or "voting achievement" or a /ad for x votes.

Off-topic: I heard you like voting, so we made a voting thread where you can vote for voting.
