[REJECTED] Staff Training

Okay here's my idea:

Every staff that gets accepted has 1 week of a tag (that Intelli decides of) for example [Trainee] and they have the staff perms and everything. Then if they are 100% good to go, then they get a staff tag.

But, if they swear, use hacks or break and rule just because they have "power" and get all big headed they lose their tag and cannot apply again within a certain time (Intelli decides again)

Poll and let everyone know what you think!

While you do have a good inspiration, this "Trainee" thing is quite unnecessary. A Staff member is chosen mainly because of extreme trust in that person and that person is expected not do anything wrong. Next off, if a staff were to do anything illegal, they would be banned just like any other normal player of minerealm would.

I sort of like this idea, but it's not necessary in the way you described. Following the rules should be just a really basic expectation for staff members, like it is for players. However, it would be nice to have some sort of training program to go over what the mods' powers are, how and when they should use their powers, what circumstances warrant an immediate ban vs warning or consultation with other staff, etc. I suspect, though, that they would already have something like this in the hidden parts of the forum.

I agree with prodigy; however, I believe that most staff are already run through the basic staff commands and duties, so this "training program" would probably be useless.

I agree with Cube. If anything, they would need to get aqquantied with how to ban people, rollback grief, check grief, and other staff duties.

But that process is already done and has been done several times when players become a staff, so this training program is kinda pointless...

We have documentation on this and typically will walk new staff through their first grief check and such. There's really no need for a tag.

Staff members already know the rules when they are "promoted", so it's not like we really need to explain the rules to them.

/ban <username> isn't very hard to learn anyway :)

Exactly. ^
Only problem: The ban hamma probably weighs 40 pounds.
