I just came up with a currency idea:
Slimeballs
you may think this is possibly the stupidest idea ever. but if you think about it, it's not a bad idea.
i will start by giving the positives and negatives of my idea:
positives:
Not too easy to get.
Adds a use to slimeballs.
More accurate trading.
Makes a fun game.
negatives:
slimes can possibly be ''farmed'' underground.
people might not accept trading their valuables for slimeballs at first.
here is an idea of the value of the slimeballs to items and blocks.
1 diamond = 16 slimeballs
1 gold = 8 slimeballs
1 iron = 4 slimeballs
1 coal = 1 slimeball
1 log = 4 slimeballs
1 wood = 1 slimeballs
2 sticks = 1 slimeball
1 brick = 16 slimeballs
signs, pressure plates, switches ect... = 4 slimeballs
this is just an example of the prices, please support this!

I'm pretty sure an ingame currency has been addressed before and has been stated that here is no need to change the trading system. It serves it purpose well enough. This would set back what the whole server knows about trading.

You are correct snital. Intelli stated before the ingame trading system is good enough it's based on trust basically but it hasn't failed yet.

If you want to use something like this, do it in your realm. Unless you can truthfully say that everyone in said realm won't succumb to greed and kill every last slime in a 1000 block radius and then hold the store owner at gunpoint until he relinquishes his stock for otherwise useless orbs of goo, this will never work.

In-game currency has been rejected many times before. Any in-game currency not enforced by admins will fail as everyone will simply change back to the barter system, since barter works best in minecraft.
Put simply, currency is a store of value, but what need do we have to store the value of an item when we can store the item itself?

Slimeballs as currency can't be implemented at this stage. Even if it was offical, I don't think anyone would trade for it. Everyone would inevitably have a slime grinder downstairs, it would be a wash.

Not the place for that GB6801. Try using either the Ban forum or the Report Abuse thread (located here...
