[IMPLEMENTED] 'Spoiler' option on forum post's.

I was browsing the Curse Minecraft Forums the other day. when I noticed an icon that more-or-nothing shrinks posts by inserting large amounts of text, images, or actual spoilers in.

The button wouldn't need to be much more complex than the 'Quote' option, where a previous post is placed in a box. The box would look a bit like this;
Spoiler wrote: Show Spoiler
Upon clicking the 'show spoiler' link something like this will replace what is currently shown
Spoiler wrote: Hide Spoiler
... arrow to the knee!
The option would be useful for hiding large amounts of text, for example in auction's, or sale's, one could hide their formatting/price list to save forcing a slower computer to struggle whilst loading it.

Another use would be hiding images in auction's, or Youtube links in the Song Thread.

Post any other uses/cons as you plead.

AlM.

This can already be done [by changing the text color to white], and the text can be revealed by highlighting it. However, this suggestion would make it a bit easier to use.

Anyway, I don't see why this forum didn't have spoilers in the first place.
I guess the suggestion to switch to IP board would be denied, rather than the phpBB running now.

Yeah, spoilers would come in handy, especially for people who post giant images. That is if they decide to use them anyway. :P

except this doesn't reduce the space taken, just changes the colour. what i believe is being suggested is a way to turn a 500 line long post into a button in a box that takes 3 lines, therefore reducing scrolling time and load times :)

Haha, I was just thinking about this exact idea this morning. Anyway, I'd like to add to the previously made statements by pointing out that, in addition to the obvious uses, spoilers also allow longer sigs, something that has peeved me and, I'm sure, many others ever since we tried to make long sigs and failed. It could also be used for, say, quizzes. ATM, it's impossible (well, possible due to white text, but difficult and confusing) to make a quiz on the forums without revealing the answers. This would solve that problem. And I could finally make the "trololol" sig...:3

+1 for a useful idea that I'm surprised hasn't been suggested before.

I really don't see the reason why 5 people voted no. I mean, if they are incapable of typing
Spoiler:
it doesn't even effect them.
