1) /realm fee 10000
2) Put sign next to button "Do not press"
3) Wait for some idiot to go "Wololol a forbidden button".
4) Enjoy your free rule abiding scamming button.

3. If they click it again, the specified amount of credits is charged, and the button click goes through.
And of course, they'd also need to have enough credits.

As long as this is being considered as a way to create dispenser-based shops, there could be a check added to see if a dispenser next to a button has anything in it. If the dispenser is empty, the transaction will not be processed, so players do not get charged for trying to buy from an out-of-stock store. Once a check to see if the dispenser is filled is added, it seems like it would only be a few more steps to look at what, precisely, is in the dispenser (i.e. checking item ID) and return that information to the potential purchaser. And voila, full-blown player-run stores.

If this were implemented i guarantee that the Diamond Exchange would re-open. The only problem is that selling large amounts of mundane materials such as cobble or other stacked materials would be INCREDIBLY time consuming.

Would there be a way to make the dispenser dispense a specified amount of something? It would be very nice if we could make something sell by stack or by individual piece.

Oh, didn't notice that.
Instead, I am calling hax on your behalf.

We are also assuming that the average IQ of said person reads "Tea cosy", as, look where we are.
Assuming that, I would assume that said person would press the button more than once ignoring chat after the button does nothing.

Assuming.

Nah, we try not to modify core gameplay, and we still want there to be player-to-player trading.

That's fine. I think a large amount of what we sell is valuables, and they normally only sell in ones and twos.

Well, you could line up 64 dispensers and fill them with cobble. Each click would dispense them all. And having them all filled would be 576 stacks! But that would mean invalidity of Prodigy's suggestion. Unless Intelli wants to code something to check all dispensers activated by a single button, as opposed to just one dispenser next to a button, which I imagine would be very complicated given the rules of redstone.

Too many problems with it. I guess it's great for simple things like a slot machine. But it can't be the whole implementation of automated shops. It's not known what is in the dispenser(s) or if there is anything in it/them at all.

I really like the idea of keeping it vanilla. The only other option I could think of for auto shops would be by simply using commands. Selling an item would be an item disappearing from your inventory and uploading it to your 'store'. Buying an item would function much like the /give command. An item would appear in your inventory, of course with the trade of credits too. And items would never be spawned. The problem with something like this is that it may lead to spawning or duping since it involves the server taking and giving items from your inventory.
